This FRITZ! Lab offers a first look at the upcoming FRITZ!OS 8.50 and invites you to test new functions and provide feedback before its release. This Lab version lays the foundation for new MyFRITZ!App functions and optimizes the security architecture of FRITZ! devices, which is already the best in the industry. In addition, switching to a new FRITZ!Box will be easier, and there are innovations for smart home, parental controls, and telephony features as well as improved everyday convenience.
New features at a glance
- Overload switching for smart plugs: The FRITZ!Smart Energy 200 and 210 smart plugs can now be automatically turned off if a specified current limit is exceeded for a defined amount of time
- Routines with multiple triggers: Users can configure an if-this-then-that statement with multiple triggers for routines, allowing the routine to be initiated by various smart home devices
- SOS call: In case of emergency, up to four emergency contacts are automatically called in sequence
- FRITZ!Fon's soft keys can be used as configurable quick-dial buttons (phone number or function)
This FRITZ! Lab is already available for the following models:
- FRITZ!Box 7590 AX
Additional FRITZ!Box models will be included in the coming months, and additional functions added – among them the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro with Matter Bridge functionality for more smart home options.
